SCWO systems for purifying the toughest wastewater
Waterox - a green and efficient turnkey solution
Aquarden’s prize-winning and patented SCWO technology, Waterox, completely eliminates hardly-degradable organics and toxic matter in your wastewater. We know this because we have tested and treated many wastewater types and the results speak for themselves.
Regardless of whether the wastewater consists of landfill leachate, biologically hardly-degradable detergents, solvents from chemical industry, phenolic wastewater, or substances derived from pharmaceutical production, our Waterox technology removes all organic pollutants. At the same time it can reuse energy and water.
Outstanding performance and lower costs
SCWO is short for SuperCritical Water Oxidation. We use the proven purification properties of SCWO to resolve tough wastewater challenges across a variety of industries. SCWO is the cost-effective method for eliminating all organic compounds and other toxic wastewater components. Learn more about the SCWO method.
The Waterox systems are installed onsite at our clients’ premises right at the source of pollution, or at local cleaning stations.
We charge a competitive fee per treated cubic meter of wastewater. In this way companies can focus on their core businesses instead of having to worry about – or invest in – wastewater treatment systems. And we can focus on our core competence: helping our customers in optimizing their wastewater treatment.
- Efficiency Complete elimination of environmentally hazardous substances. No dilution, but destruction!
- Discharge End-product is pure water – direct discharge to receiving water bodies
- Emissions No toxic bi-products or emissions
- Environment and resources Energy-efficient process with reuse of water and energy
- Logistics Either onsite units or local cleaning stations
- System Compact and modular, short residence time, continuous process
- Business model Price per treated m3 of wastewater incl. maintenance, service and support (leasing)
- Economy Competitive pricing. Reuse of resources
Total treated volume: Depending on the number and size of Waterox units and pre-treatment facilities the actual treated wastewater volume may easily exceed 100,000 m3 per year.
COD-reduction: > 99 % (remaining COD, if any, comes from harmless oxidation by-products).
Power and resources:
Energy consumption reactor: 20 kWh (200 L/h).
Energy generation: Often exceeds consumption.
Treated wastewater can be reused as process water.
Reactor footprint: 10 m2 (without pre and post-treatment).
Height: 6.5 m
