Seminar with focus on supercritical fluid and green sustainable chemistry
DTI is one of the largest institutions in Denmark with focus on research and technology-based knowledge and consultancy. An area that has received increased interest in recent years is supercritical fluid technologies. This is mainly because supercritical technologies are categorized as ‘green chemistry’, but also because supercritical processes have a variety of industrial application possibilities.
On the 20th of January 2015, DTI presented their new Green Chemistry lab facilities and invited international speakers to talk about their particularly use of and research on supercritical fluid technologies.
Aquarden’s SCWO-solution
One way to exploit the unique supercritical conditions is to treat toxic wastewater. As a specialist in Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO), Director Zhuoyan Cai from Aquarden Technologies was invited to present Aquarden’s solution for destruction of hazardous substances in industrial wastewater. Mr. Cai spoke about the SCWO-technology and how is can contribute to a greener and more cost-efficient way of treating problematic waste streams.
